About Care with Lynne

I’m Lynne Martinez, a Licensed Practical Nurse with over ten years of experience supporting older adults in long-term care and the community. I grew up in a small farming community in the Philippines, where my grandparents, great-grandmother, and the older adults around me quietly shaped my understanding of care, compassion, and service.

Today, I combine my nursing experience with meaningful activities, creativity and genuine connection to help older adults live with dignity, purpose, and joy. I also enjoy creating dementia-friendly community programs, brain games, and resources that support older adults, families, and caregivers.

Where my caregiving journey began.

Why I Started Care with Lynne

I never planned to work in healthcare

As a child, I dreamed of studying biology, becoming a farmer like my grandfather, and traveling the world. Looking back, however, I realize my caregiving journey had already begun long before I ever wore a nursing uniform.

Growing up in a small farming community in the Philippines, I was surrounded by my great-grandparents, grandparents, and many older adults who quietly shaped my life. They belonged to a generation that lived through hardship, yet they taught me resilience, gratitude, generosity, and a deep faith in God. Those lessons continue to guide the way I care for others today.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with older adults in senior homes, assisted living, and the community. Every person I have cared for has taught me something unique. Some have shared stories of love and loss, others have reminded me to slow down and appreciate simple moments. Many have strengthened my belief that every older adult deserves to be seen, heard, and valued.

I created Care With Lynne because I wanted a place to share those experiences. This website is more than a collection of caregiving tips. It is a place to document my journey, share practical resources, create meaningful activities, and encourage families and caregivers who are walking a similar path.

My hope is that these stories will remind us that caregiving is not only about meeting physical needs. It is about preserving dignity, building relationships, and finding joy in everyday moments.
